One day I received an email from Liz saying that she and Steve were going to be in CA and would I like company for a few days while Steve was working in northern CA. There was only one stipulation to her request. She didn't want to drive the freeways here. Being legally blind, I no longer drive. I told her to come anyway and I would figure it out. It was quite an adventure, but we managed to do quite a bit using taxis, city busses, and access, which is a service offered to people with disabilities. It may have taken us longer than usual to get places, but we laughed and made the best of it....something Liz was an expert at. We had a wonderful time eating, drinking lots of coffee, and reminiscing about our trips to Bermuda and Williamsburg! I saw Liz for the last time two weeks prior to her death. And yes, we shared a cup of coffee together Rest in peace Liz. Love, Judy
