DEATH NOTICE FOR FRIDAY’S INQUIRER

WILBUR, Catherine E. (nee Connelly) died peacefully in her home of 63 years in Abington, PA on January 21, 2014 with her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Herman at her side. She is the beloved mother of Kathleen P. Kozar (Joseph), Janet M. Wilbur, and George R. Wilbur (Mary). She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Sister of Bernadette Celino (John) and the late John, Anna, Charles and Irma. Catherine was a charter member of Our Lady Help of Christians Choir and remained so for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Bell Choir and Choir Libarian. Quiet and unobtrusive she was always prepared to hand out the music to the members. She ran the pizza booth at the annual OLHC Carnival for many years as well as being a member of the Theatre Guild appearing in musical shows at the Church and Bishop McDevitt High School’s Cabaret Nights. Catherine and her husband were active members of the OLHC fifty five and Over Club, they also traveled extensively including Germany, Ireland, England, Austria, Switzerland and her favorite – Hawaii. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass Monday 11:00 am at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 1500 Marian Rd. Abington where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until Mass time in the Church. Int. Holy Sepulchre Cem. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, 1000. W. Lycoming St. Phila., PA 19140 where Mrs. Wilbur was the class of 1944. www.littleflowerhighschool.org.
