Robert W. Gore Sr. of Abington, PA, passed away Saturday, the Third of November 2018. He was 72 years old. “Bob” as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was born on December 17, 1945 to Thomas and Catherine “Kay” Gore of Philadelphia and spent his childhood growing up in the Kensington and Mt. Airy sections of Philadelphia. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science. From there, he started his own painting and paperhanging business which brought about many years of success.
Bob loved to make people laugh, had a terrific sense of humor, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed the beach, boxing, swimming, casinos, animals, and bowling especially. He loved music and dancing, which is what he was enjoying the night he met the woman he ultimately fell in love with, Loretta Savarese Fitzgerald. They hit it off immediately and spent the next 25 years together. Loretta was Bob’s everything and having her by his side gave him so much joy in life.
Bob is survived by his partner, Loretta Savarese Fitzgerald, his loving children Robert, Christine, Steven (Michael), Phillip (Charlene), and Catherine (Gregg). His grandchildren Sierra, Salvatore, Dominic, Adrianna, and Tyler. His brothers Thomas (Susan), Michael (Debbie), Edward, and was preceded in death by John. Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday 11:00 am at FitzPatrick Funeral Home, 1500 Old York Rd. Abington where His Memorial Service will be at 12 Noon.
